Follow on Google News | Four Local Bands aim to be the "Last Band Standing" on March 2ndBand Together’s 3rd annual “battle of the bands” event to benefit Tammy Lynn Center
By: S&A Cherokee Four local bands with diverse backgrounds and musical stylings – Big Fat Gap (http://www.bigfatgap.com/) “From roots and soul, to hip-hop and jazz, to everything in between, this year’s Last Band Standing has everything a local music lover could want,” said Matt Strickland, executive director for Band Together NC. “We will continue to support the amazing talent of local musicians through annual events like Last Band Standing and the main event, and we are thrilled to be able to raise the profile of deserving local nonprofits in the process.” Each band will perform a 30-to-40-minute set with a panel of four judges choosing the winner. Audience voting along with a new online voting contest will help decide the winner in the event of a tie among the judges. This year’s judges include Chris Malarkey, of Lincoln Theatre; Taylor Travesari, Manager for Red Hat Amphitheater; Tickets for the third annual “Last Band Standing” are just $10 in advance for general admission or $65 in advance for the VIP experience. VIP tickets include dinner, beer and wine and a private viewing experience. Only 100 VIP tickets are available.
