By: Russell IPM Ltd The round table discussed - Peach in Tunisia - Peach in Saiss plain in Morocco - Citrus in Morocco Miss Sarra Bouagga presented her research work in Tunisia focusing on the results obtained in -mass trapping technique using the female attractant Femilure. Her presentation was entitled: Mass trapping of ceratitis in peach orchard in Tunisia. Dr Mohamed Ezikari presented a work undertaken by a graduate student under the supervision of prof. Sekkat ( Saiss plain / Meknes) on the same topic. Further presentation were delivered under the folloing titles: - Citrus IOBC presentation “Development of Semio-chemical based Management Strategy for Mediterranean Fruit Fly, Ceratitis capitata in the Citrus Grove in Morocco" in Argana/Souss - 2010: Flight dynamics and control by mass trapping in two agricultural fields of peach-nectarine ( Chlihat I and II) in the region of El Hajeb - 2012: Different techniques of mass trapping of Mediterranean fruit fly, Ceratitis capitata in peach-nectarine orchards of Saiss and the Middle Atlas. Other works undertaken in Argana and in 2010 showed a significant reduction of chemical treatment and better control of the crop. In the work undertaken in 2012 Femilure was compared to local technics using nitrogen fertlizer as ceratitis attractant. Femilure was more specific to ceratitis. In all trials and even in Tunisia sex ratio capture was an average of 20% male and 80% female. Results on the use of Femilure mass trapping technique in Citrus orchards will be presented in future round table which will orgainsed specifically for the Citrus farming sector. Russell IPM is active in the development of Monitoring , Mass trapping and Attract and Kill products for the management of fruit fly in many crops. End
