Tom Cunningham Band Is Back On The San Diego Music Scene!

SAN DIEGO - March 13, 2013 - PRLog -- A professional musician for over 30 years, award winning multi-instrumentalist and singer/songwriter Tom Cunningham has recently decided to play mostly local gigs and that's great news for both fans and local bands. A mainstay on the San Diego music scene since the mid 70's, locals and tourists have enjoyed his talents as a guitar, fiddle and mandolin virtuoso considered to be one of San Diego's best. You most likely have seen Tom at some point if you've spent much time in San Diego, most notably as band leader for KSON's Flatbed Band in the 80's and later as host and emcee for Sea World's Dolphin Show for several years doing an estimated 3000+ shows! Cunningham has played just about every tourist venue, casino and night club on the map in San Diego including The San Diego Zoo, The Lyceum Theater, Wild Animal Park (now Safari Park), The Star of India, The Hotel Dell, Loews Coronado Resort, Del Mar Fair, Legoland, San Diego Convention Center and many more of San Diego's finest places!

For the last 10 years or so, Cunningham was leaving town quite a bit playing with production shows based in Las Vegas including Superstars Live in Concert, Hot August Nights, and Adventures in Parrotdise, all extremely successful tribute shows that have played all over the globe. While still taking on some of those road gigs, Tom has been cultivating more and more local performance and studio work. Currently he has his own  Americana/Bluegrass group simply called The Tom Cunningham Band or TCB which plays regularly at casinos, private parties, corporate events and festivals. Working with a total of 5+ bands, playing at North Coast Church in Vista, and filling in as a hired gun in a few more, Cunningham will tell you thats what it takes to make a modest living playing music while sticking close to home, at least that's how he does it.

When someone is looking for a fiddler or muli-instrumentalist for a gig or studio session, Cunningham is on the short list. Most recent example? Tom was asked to play fiddle on Megadeth's new album "Super Collider" to be released in June of this year.
