Artist Kernodle Unveils New Face Of God

Artist, Robert G. Kernodle has created a bold new representation of God's face for greeting cards, now available (to order) online at fineartamerica.com

GREENSBORO, N.C. - March 25, 2013 - PRLog -- Artist, Robert G. Kernodle has designed an eye-catching series of images that picture the face of God in a bold, modern style.  These images are designed to appear on 5" x 7", folded greeting cards that anybody can buy at fineartamerica.com

Named The New Faces Of God, the series consists of eight different images, each of which is composed to fit exactly within dimensions of the standard-sized cards.  The cards do not contain text, and they open to blank pages that buyers can customize with individual messages at the time of ordering them.

Kernodle's New Faces Of God are unique in religious art, because they depart from traditional Christian representations.  Such representations tend to favor a picture of The Supreme Being as an elderly male with gray hair.  The most famous example of this appears in Michelangelo's painting, The Creation Of Adam on the Sistine Chapel ceiling.  In contrast, Kernodle's images portray The Supreme Being as a fluid entity with many possible faces - some male, some female, and some amorphous.

The new images are results of re-working fluidism art photography images that were created ten years ago.  Fluidism art photography, by itself, involves staging spontaneous interactions between real-world liquids such as water, oil, acrylic paints, glycerin, and egg whites.  Small puddles are created with mixtures of these liquids, and their various patterns are photographed close-up.  These small, colorful, continuously active puddles produce complex patterns with great visual appeal.

Kernodle chooses photographs of the most interesting patterns here to use as foundations for his new faces.  With the aid of photo-editing software, he re-orients, sometimes adds anatomical features, and blends various elements digitally to arrive at updated images of God as the ultimate fluid being.  All his images can be found at:
