PRLog -- Visiting Angels Homecare has partnered with Odyssey Hospice and Florida Hospital DeLand. This partnership allows the “Alzheimer’
s Caregiver Project” classes to be available at no cost to any Alzheimer’s or other related dementia caregiver in the community.
The “Alzheimer’
s Caregiver Project” is a series of six classes addressing the unique issues of caring for someone with Alzheimer’s disease and other related dementias. The classes are once a month for six months and this series is starting April 25th, 2013 at Florida Hospital DeLand, 701 West Plymouth Ave., DeLand, FL 32720.
The classes are modeled in order of what a caregiver will go through once their loved one has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s or other related dementia. Professionals in each field will be presenting the classes: Understanding Alzheimer’s Disease, Legal and Financial Matters, Surviving Challenging Behaviors/Communications, Medications/
Research, Choices of Care(community resources), and the Virtual Dementia Tour will be available for class attendees.
