Vitor "Shaolin" Ribiero, former professional MMA fighter and 4th degree Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt has started an online video library. The website launched with dozens of videos already in the database with plans of adding more on a weekly basis. The videos feature Shaolin’s personalized breakdowns of hand-picked techniques. Shaolin began his BJJ career in Brazil, and has traveled a great deal over his martial arts career. Recently he opened up his own academy in midtown Manhattan where he trains kids and adults, beginners and experienced competitors. Shaolin has built up a large body of students over his career, many of whom do not live in New York, or even in the United States. Many of Shaolin’s students would have move to continue their training with him, so Shaolin was looking for a way to open his classes up to those living far away. "I wanted to start this website to support all the great friends I have all over the world and share some of the best moves I have learned over time with them," said Shaolin. This website is the next step in connecting his global network of students. Shaolin’s goal is to pass on his knowledge to the largest audience possible, and now both his students and longtime fans have the opportunity to learn from him from wherever they are based. "I have a large arsenal of moves, passed from great generations of black belts before me," said Shaolin. Each move is broken down into detailed steps. The videos run a little over three minutes and feature the technique from various angles being applied slowly, and then in real time. Variations on a specific move are described in separate videos. Shaolin hopes that this website will be an asset to the BJJ community, and will help teachers and students alike learn from him. "This website is meant to be a supplement to your training at your home school," said Shaolin. He emphasizes that while time spent in the gym is the most effective type of training, this kind of instruction can provide the opportunity to take your training home. Members can access the full video library at http://www.nycjiujitsuonline.com for $9.99 per month or $99 per year. End
