Follow on Google News | New York City Singer, Songwriter and Grandfather Releases New Children's Book and SongWolrad Press announces its first children’s book and song by New York City-based singer, songwriter and grandfather Mark Darlow.
By: Wolrad Press The softcover version of the book is 8.5 inches square and is illustrated with full-page vibrant color drawings by long-time artist, illustrator and New York City resident Juan Rodriguez. The song has exactly the same lyrics as the words in the book's text, which helps children follow along with the song even if they are not yet able to read the words aloud by themselves. Darlow, who has written hundreds of poems and songs, has this to say about I Wonder What It’s Like To Be: "My primary goals with this book and song are to entertain while helping children think about the incredible world around them. I hope that this book and song help young people expand their imaginations and reading skills as they think about what life might be like if they were an animal like a chipmunk or fish, or an object like a plane." Mark Darlow spent most of his business career in a family business that grew to become one of the largest graphic arts establishments in the country. He brings his 50+ years of printing and typography experience to this work in many ways, as evidenced by the book's simple yet easy-to-read layout and design. The printed and Kindle versions of the book include a page with the full lyrics of the song, and the Kindle version adds a copy of the words of the song in black text under each page to help readers follow along with the song quickly and easily regardless of the digital device used to read it (Mac or PC, Amazon Kindle™ e-reader/tablet, Apple® iPad™/iPhone™ Darlow was born in The Bronx, New York and is the father of two boys and one grandson. When asked why he started writing children’s books, Darlow says; “I’ve always wanted to write songs and books for kids. It gives me so much pleasure to watch children when I’m singing them a song or telling a story I’ve written just for them.” Videos plus links to the book and song can be found on the book and song's website at www.iwonderdoyou.com.
