STEM Summer Camps Held At Clark Atlanta University for Rising Scholars

May 13, 2013 - PRLog -- With the launch and success of their five year STEM Education Awareness Campaign, Atlanta CARES has continuously made an impact on local communities abroad. In their efforts to improve student’s skills in science, math, engineering, and technology, the mentoring movement is excited to carry out their objectives in the launch of their STEM Summer Camps Program at Clark Atlanta University. During the weeks of June 10th-14th, and June 17th-21st, rising scholars in grades Kdg-12th grade will have the opportunity to engage in the most influential camp experience of their young lives. With activities ranging from and including Health and Fitness, Mad Science, Numbers Make Sense, Eco-Art, Entrepreneurship, Robotics, Web Design, and Creating Apps; it is evident this is no ordinary camp. Students will enjoy a challenging curriculum with the chance to gain insight and interaction from certified educators and STEM professional guest speakers!

Atlanta CARES hopes to facilitate the efforts of the National Science Foundation’s nationwide movement, for which these summer camps will serve as the foundation in preparing students for not only lucrative, but stable careers in the 21st century. Atlanta CARES does just that, they care about the well-being of our communities, in which their campaign goes a step beyond just educating and mentoring our youth. The U.S. Department of Labor validates the importance of programs alike, illustrating the ongoing demand for professionals in STEM which is anticipated to increase and grow in the decades to come. By teaching students the necessary steps to succeed and showcasing how to overcome the obstacles faced in the business world, students will be able to effectively handle the future landscape of the world. This program hopes to cultivate in the minds of young individuals the importance of making the best educational choices in areas arising from STEM careers.

In partnership with Atlanta CARES, AYA Academy, and YELL! Academy will ensure that the camps are a fun and effective way to get students excited about learning and possibly pursuing STEM driven careers.
