SEROP Student is Awarded Outstanding Student Award

Southeast Regional Occupational Program (SEROP) hosted a recognition event to recognize students from SEROP classes. SEROP student and high school student at Norwalk High School, Natalie Ramos, won the bronze award.
 
NORWALK, Calif. - May 29, 2013 - PRLog -- SEROP offers a free Cosmetology class for seniors in the ABC School District and Norwalk La Mirada School District. The class in held in the Fall semester from Monday-Thursday at 3:30p.m.-5:30p.m. Upon completion the seniors receive college credit.

The SEROP Cosmetology program is an introduction to Cosmetology. The students learn basic Cosmetology subjects such as manicuring, pedicuring, make-up, eyelash application, facials, braiding, hairstyling, thermal styling, nail art, artificial nails and hair color while they attend high school.

To win an award, the student must be nominated by teacher of the ROP class. Once a student is nominated the student submits a portfolio, and an SEROP committee determines the winners. Each district has 5,000 students that take SEROP classes.

SEROP student and high school student at Norwalk High School, Natalie Ramos, won the bronze award for Outstanding Student  Recognition. She was honored at the Cerritos College Library on May 15, at 6:00 pm.  Natalie will be attending full time Cerritos College Cosmetology in the Fall.

The Cerritos College Cosmetology Program’s mission is to prepare students for a career. Cerritos College Cosmetology offers Cosmetology and Esthetician programs.  The program provides students with the skills to cut, color, perm, straighten, and braid hair, manicure, pedicure, and skin care as well as other applications and techniques. Students in the Esthetician program learn how to analyze skin, perform facials, massages, extractions, make-up, and how to treat skin.

The Cerritos College Cosmetology Program consists of 1600 clocked hours, of which 75% is spent performing hands-on applications. The program also houses a salon which is open to the public and prepares students for their career by providing real life training.
