PRLog -- Departing early morning from London, we first visit the mysterious Stonehenge on Salisbury Plain, which was built by the Druids during the Bronze Age some 4,000 years ago. Theories surrounding its purpose remain ranging from a burial ground to religious temple to astronomical clock. We travel on to the majestic roman spa city of Bath with its spectacular Georgian architecture, which is also site of an ancient roman bath. The city was the first in England to achieve UNESCO status and remains one of England’s best loved cities. Our tour takes us on through the beautiful countryside of the Cotswolds finally to Stratford-upon-
Avon, a charming market town and erstwhile home of one of arguably England’s greatest writer, William Shakespeare. Many mainly Tudor buildings remain giving Stratford a truly historical feel and we visit the actual birthplace of Shakespeare in the centre of town. Before departing back to London, we enjoy English strawberry scones accompanied by a glass of chilled champagne – a wonderful English end to a truly English day! This tour and a wide selection of other half and full day tours can be booked on the sightseeing section of the London Discount Hotel website
