By: Motor Werks Cadillac of Barrington Cadillac has been developing a new twin-turbocharged V6 engine for years, and the 2014 XTS will be the first vehicle equipped with this new power plant. The turbocharged V6 will offer power commensurate with a V8. The new engine is a 3.6L V6 that’s good for 410 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque. The turbochargers provide 12 psi of boost, which results a wide maximum torque range of 1,900 rpm to 5,600 rpm. This new engine is also expected to be available in the 2014 CTS-V. The naturally aspirated V6, which is currently available in the 2013 XTS, will carry over to the 2014 edition. The twin-turbo version will get a unique grille and badges, and will come standard with all-wheel drive. The base model of the 2014 XTS will feature front-wheel drive with the option of all-wheel drive. Each model gets Magnetic Ride Control, which can adjust suspension in real time to adapt to conditions. Inside the cabin, the new 2014 Cadillac XTS will also see new technology updates, including new features like a rear entertainment system with two DVD screens, a rear wood-trimmed armrest with radio and sunshade controls, and an optional opaque sunroof. Up front, there will be new Intellibeam adaptive headlights, which automatically switch from high to low beams.
