Listings. It is an important method of letting the public know everything that is happening in their Local area and around the world. Even with the advancements in computer technology, newspapers continue to be an important aspect of everyday life.

Throughout the years, the newspaper was the only tool to inform people. Many decades later, we started to witness gradually the appearance of the Radio, the Television, and the Internet leading us to every form of social Medias.

Despite the wide invasion of the Internet and the television in our daily lives, the newspaper is still making its way out, because of some people who are still loyal to it and considering it indispensable to start their day. This habit is mostly embraced by the older generation who thinks that the printed media is so important because as once said, “Having that physical paper is much different than seeing something online. This is a real-world occupation, not a virtual one. You can't pass the Internet from one person to another, but you can pass a newspaper." In addition, it’s a fact that a considerable part of the elderly doesn’t know how to manage the internet or any sort of technology, the reason why they are still attached to the newspaper and classify as an essential need. Moreover, they think that the journalists of a newspaper are more reliable since they have been reading their articles for many years now and therefor they have built some sort of connection and interaction between them.

However, now the problem is to get people under 50 or so to pick up a newspaper .But this generation follows a new strategy that relies on a new kind of thoughts, they say “You can sit down at your laptop and enjoy that same newspaper or any other newspaper in the world. Or you can skip the newspapers and go to some sites that make the news more entertaining or politically simpatico.” But where do these wannabes get most of their information? From newspapers, of course. That is mere irony.

Do newspapers have a future? And how long is that future? Well, I ask you to imagine Egypt without the Pyramids or Lebanon without Baalbeck.

Imagine life without newspaper.
Nowadays, newspapers on paper are on the way out. But we should keep them going for as long as we feel they’re having an impact. And I am sure that the newspaper and the online sites of the newspaper need to be brought together because without that sort of integration, neither will succeed.
