By: TUN, Inc. With over 10,000 participating merchants, The University Network (TUN) is now reaching 80% of the U.S. college audience. TUN’s website, TUN.com and free mobile app, TUNdeals, helps college students locate student discounts offered by local businesses near college campuses. From food to fitness, entertainment, beauty, nightlife and even doctors visits, TUN helps students save money by finding deals on basic items and services they are already spending money on. "Our goal is to help students save money every time they open their wallets," declares TUN's CEO Peter Corrigan. TUN acts as an advocate for students by not just making them aware of current deals but motivating merchants to create a more attractive deal if the discount being offered is not good enough. Students have played an active role in the shaping of TUN.com and TUNdeals. As the website and app are becoming more interactive, students are able to help keep TUN both up to date and more reliable by adding deals that are not yet on the site or flagging those that are no longer available. They can also request specific businesses be added or ask for more of a certain type of deal. Starting this fall, TUN will be Rewarding students with free stuff for these actions and for helping their friends save. About TUN TUN’s core mission is to help college students save money. TUN acts as an advocate for students by encouraging local businesses to offer student deals. TUN also promotes the discounts offered by local businesses that are already committed to helping students. TUN has rapidly grown since its inception in 2010 when it became apparent that college students would need all the help they could get to deal with the rising cost of higher education and increasing student loan debt.
