NORWALK, Calif. - Aug. 13, 2013 - PRLog -- Cerritos College Pathway Programs Department’s mission is to create educational and career pathways for in and out of school youth, and young adults by providing a seamless transition from secondary to post-secondary education, and the skilled workforce.

Pathway Programs include career exploration, articulation agreements, concurrent enrollment, college readiness bridge programs, recruitment, parent presentations, enrichment workshops, and support services. The programs encourage students to pursue and successfully complete post-secondary degrees and industry valued certification, while increasing student engagement and achievement.

The Robotics Camp was free and available to all middle school and high school students. In the Camp, students created VEX robots utilizing machine-tools and engineering design software. They learned valuable skills, such as team building, Manufacturing Technology, and Engineering Technology.

The year round robotics club will start in September 2013, and students from the club will compete in the SkillsUSA competition in 2014. Students from the Pathway Programs Robotics Club won first place at the State level SkillsUSA competition in 2013.
