ABA Jersey Express to Hold FINAL Player Tryout, Saturday @1pm, in Newark

NEWARK, N.J. - Aug. 15, 2013 - PRLog -- Newark, N.J. (Thursday, August 15, 2013) – The Jersey Express will hold its FINAL player tryout, on Saturday, August 17^th @ 1pm.  Malcolm X Shabazz High School, 80 Johnson Avenue, Newark, NJ will play host to the Express for the tryout, and for ALL regular season home games for 2013-2014.

 

The Express return; Almin Hodzic, 6’11-C, Charles Smith, 6’8-F, SuQuan Gary, 6’6-F, Devon Young, 6’3-G, Earl Chang, 6’3-G, Edgardo Torres, 6’3-G, Jason Smith, 6’-G, and add Robert Whyte, 6’8-F/C.  Ray Ortiz returns for his 2^nd season as Head Coach, and looks to continue the success achieved last season, with the Express reaching the ABA Elite 8, and finishing the season 5^th overall in the league.

 

With only 8 roster spots filled, the Jersey Express hope to get a huge turnout for Saturday’s Final tryout, before taking on the AND1 LIVE Legends basketball team, in an exhibition pre-season game on September 21^st.  They’ll look to add 7-10 players to the training camp roster, before finalizing the active roster for opening night on November 16^th.
