Ram Introduces Rumble Bee Concept Truck at Woodward Dream Cruise Event

MERRILLVILLE, Ind. - Aug. 27, 2013 - PRLog -- Ram recently introduced the car industry to the Ram 1500 Rumble Bee Concept truck at the Woodward Dream Cruise Event in Detroit. The new Rumble Bee Concept marks the 10-year anniversary of the Rumble Bee models, with the first of these models rolling off of the assembly line in 2004. These trucks were inspired by the Dodge Super Bee muscle car from back in the 1960s and 70s.

This Rumble Bee Concept truck, based on the 2013 Ram 1500, comes powered by a 5.7L HEMI V8 engine that produces 395 hp and 407 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and is also equipped with a Mopar cold-air intake that helps boost performance levels.

This two-door short-bed truck is painted in what Ram calls a Drone Yellow and has a black stripe that gives the appearance of honeycomb. In addition, on each side of the truck there is a new “Speed Bee’ design located on the black stripe. Also helping give a striking appearance is the black color of the grille, fuel door, and dual exhaust tailpipes against the yellow. This Ram truck sits atop 24-inch Vellano wheels and the suspension has been lowered by two inches.

On the inside the yellow and black color pattern continues, as the seats are black and Drone Yellow. Throughout the interior are the Rumble Bee logos. One detail that received much attention was the shift knob, which lights up to reveal a honeycomb pattern and a real bee encased in amber for the shifter knob. The pair of buttons below the shifter makes the truck louder.

As of right now there are no plans for this Rumble Bee concept to be put into production. However, Ram has said that they would consider creating this vehicle should there be interest from consumers.
