Joe’s first wife died at a young age, leaving him to raise their son, Chris, who was 15 at the time. Joe and Chris never really dealt with the loss together. They silently grieved alone and were coping, but not addressing the issue of their mutual loss. Six years after losing his mother, Chris died in an accident.

Twenty years after his son’s death, Joe published this book. He realized how difficult it was for Chris, so he included many strategies and concepts that he used in his teaching career. This book will help ease the hopelessness and despair in a healthy and logical way that teens will understand.
