MESA Announces Promotion of Aaron Duncan to Principal

DALLAS - Sept. 17, 2013 - PRLog -- MESA, an international landscape architecture and urban design firm announced today the promotion of Aaron Duncan to Principal in its Dallas office. Duncan joins three other Principals as part of the executive leadership team.

With MESA for 5 years, Duncan is a recognized leader in master planning and design. His experience covers a wide range of project types in the U.S. and internationally including community development, mixed-use, hospitality, parks, golf courses, urban design and planning. To date, he has managed land planning projects spanning 8 countries, 19 states, and over 75,000 acres of land. His background in landscape architecture, real estate, and city politics in addition to working with developers has made him successful at creating large-scale master plans. With Duncan’s efforts, in conjunction with the firm’s previous experience, MESA is now designing 4 of the 8 new North Texas community development projects recently featured in the Dallas Morning News (June 13, 2013).

In addition to his leadership at MESA, Duncan currently serves on the City Council for the City of Coppell, the Kansas State University Landscape Advisory Council, and the Urban Land Institute Community Development Council. He has previously served as the City of Coppell Planning & Zoning Commissioner, as well as Chair and Secretary for the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) Texas Chapter.

This year Duncan earned recognition in the ENR Texas & Louisiana 2013 Top 20 Under 40 list, which recognizes the outstanding contributions of design and construction professionals under the age of 40. He also earned the firm a 2013 Honor Award from the Texas ASLA for the mixed-use international project, Glukhovo, in Russia.
