By: Marine Life Studies Marine Life Studies Founder and Executive Director, Peggy Stap, remarks, “Marine Life Studies is a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to teaching and inspiring the public to protect whales and dolphins. Bob Talbot is one of our heroes! Throughout his years working to photograph the whales and dolphins in the open seas, he has made it his life’s work to foster a respect for animals and to fight to protect their habitat. This is a rare opportunity for people to meet with him one-on-one. We are thrilled that Bob will be at our fundraising event!” Talbot’s photograph art, prints and posters have been published in magazines such as Audubon, Time, Natural History, American Photographer, National Wildlife, Outdoor Photographer, BBC Wildlife and National Geographic, as well as numerous other publications. In an interview with SeaWeb, Talbot explained, “The idea is to let the ocean speak for itself. When you are out there every day, or even just a few days of your life, you can’t help but want to wrap your arms around the whole world and say, ‘you have to see this.’ It’s what our planet is; we are an ocean planet. To be there, to feel it, it’s hard to imagine how anyone could be party to squander it.” Event attendees will have the chance to mingle with Bob Talbot in an intimate setting. He’ll share stories of his adventures photographing and filming whales and dolphins and working with Jean Michel Cousteau on Ocean Futures Projects. He’ll also give pointers on how to take that perfect National Geographic photograph, or film that perfect marine wildlife segment. Whether you are a sea faring whale watcher or a landlubber, Flip for Whales™ Land and Sea Yacht Club Party has something for everyone.
