The 2015 Honda Civic Type R is a High-Speed Hatchback

The Type R is a hatchback version of the popular Honda Civic designed for high performance. There are still two more years of development left before a production model will be released.

While rendered pictures have shown up for some time, Honda recently debuted a new short video of the Civic Type R on the track at Nurburgring in Germany. Along with the video, Honda has confirmed the FWD vehicle will have a turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder engine that would give power of "at least 280 PS." As a rough conversion, that’s close to 280 hp.

The 2013 Honda Civic is the most recent of the affordable compact cars available at Bosak Honda. Currently, models are available as either a coupe or a sedan. If the Type R gets an official United States release, then it would be a new element to the model line. There have also been rumors the Type R would be used as the basis of a redesigned Honda CR-V.
