SAN FRANCISCO - Oct. 18, 2013 - PRLog -- Mr. Pitts, known as the world's most diverse self-taught artist is US Army veteran will exhibit at Intel Corporation in Santa Clara, California.  He is  to participate in their Military Veteran Art Show. This will be the first art exhibit for the artist in California.

Although for the past decade, the artist has focused his creative efforts on painting, mixed media and recycled works of art, Mr. Pitts' initial foray into artistic expression was in the form of photography, having been a photographer for more than 30 years.  He purchased his first camera, a Yashica FX3 at age 14.   As a photographer, he has captured the images of several notable individuals including former presidential candidate Mitch Romney, celebrities Robin Thicke, Mary J Blige , Sean "P.Diddy" Combs, Tina Marie, Tom Joyner, Boris Kodjoe, among many others.

After several years, he broadened his artistic expression by incorporating painting.  Being self-taught has enabled him to explore all aspects of creativity.  His abstract style has been compared to the expressionist artist Jackson Pollock, leading one of his clients to call him "The Black Jackson Pollock."

The Intel exhibit will showcase 4 unique pieces, three of which are paintings.  Kathleen Ellerston, Veteran Artist Program Manager at Intel, selected the four particular pieces that Mr. Pitts will exhibit. One of the four pieces is a striking photographic work created by Greg Pitts entitled "Fire Sky"

Mr. Pitts often reflects on his tour of duty with the US Army.  He was stationed at Ft. Hood Texas as a cook with the 1st Calvary Division.  He was honorably discharged in 1993.

As a veteran, he contacted the USVAA (United States Veterans Artist Alliance) and that organization was instrumental in pointing him towards their site which has several links and information specific to veterans and their participation in the arts.

Mr. Pitts' art can be found throughout the world, with pieces of his art located in Canada, Australia, South Africa, the Netherlands and several states in the US.  He was a successful exhibitor at Miami Art Basel for two consecutive years.

The exhibit will be held October 19th throughout December 2013 at the Intel facility in Santa Clara, CA.
