Community Sponsors Come Together in Support of First South Florida National Alliance on Mental Il

BOCA RATON, Fla. - Oct. 24, 2013 - PRLog -- Community support has been over-the-top for the first South Florida 2013 NAMIWalks event, "Walking for Mental Health," to be held Saturday, November 9 in Tradewinds Park, Coconut Creek reports Edna Einhorn, NAMI Broward President and the Walk’s Coordinator, Wanda Keller.

Funds will be used to support NAMI's programs throughout the tri-county community as Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade chapters come together to share in the efforts. NAMI programs include support, education, research and advocacy for all persons living with and affected by schizophrenia, bipolar disorder (manic depression), major depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder and severe anxiety disorders.

Registration begins at 8 a.m. and the Walk kicks off at 9 a.m.  The Walk is a rain or shine event. Tradewinds Park is located at 3600 West Sample Road, Coconut Creek. The day will include children’s fun events, bring your dog, and entertainment.
