Popcorn Popped in Coconut Oil is Far Better....

NORTHVILLE, Mich. - Oct. 29, 2013 - PRLog -- In 1994 the Center for Science in the Public Interest came out with a scathing report on movie-theatre popcorn. That report basically stated that the worse snack-food one could ever possibly nosh on was theatre popcorn popped in coconut oil (saturated fat). The largest cinema chains immediately started popping corn in canola/soybean oil (omega 6-rich and probably a GMO product)   They ignored the main issue: any oil that is heated turns into a trans-fat.  A medium size bag with butter…(actually it’s soybean oil (GMO product with added MSG) that’s been flavored and colored to look and taste like butter) and a diet soda comes to 1,610 calories.

Our point is not to lead you to believe that heated coconut oil is better for you than heated canola or soybean oil. They are all trans fats…Our point is to help you realize that non-heated coconut oil is a far better choice.
Google the phrase “coconut oil” and you’ll get a slew of websites touting the benefits of coconut oil…it raises HDL while lowering LDLs; great for eczema and psoriasis; great for skin care and hair conditioner; great for exercisers because it burns fat rather than stores it. Although coconut oil is better, you still need to avoid high heated oils. Also watch out for the popcorn. It is still heavily sprayed with insecticides, herbicides, fungicides and growth regulators.  Best popcorn? Home-made…air popped organic popcorn drizzled with room-temperature organic coconut oil.
