CALSTAR’s operations were first accredited in 2001, shortly after CAMTS created the voluntary process, and have been continually re-accredited since that time. This latest accreditation is valid until September 2016, a three-year term. “As the premier not-for-profit provider of air medical transport services on the West Coast, we believe that the strict national standards recognized by CAMTS improve the quality of patient care in the communities we serve and elevate safety within the transport environment for all who participate,” Tad Henderson, COO, added: “We are excited to have successfully completed our fifth accreditation through CAMTS. From an operational perspective, it’s encouraging to see the various disciplines within our industry providing input to ensure that all aspects of air medical transport are captured in the accreditation process. By doing so, CAMTS has found a way to balance various business models within the industry and adapt when needed to ensure its requirements reflect current trends.” About CALSTAR California Shock Trauma Air Rescue (CALSTAR) is a nonprofit public benefit corporation founded in 1983.
