CALSTAR Hires New Education Coordinator

 
SACRAMENTO, Calif. - June 17, 2013 - PRLog -- Fair Oaks resident Margaret Franklin has been hired as education coordinator for CALSTAR, Tad Henderson, chief operations officer, has announced.

Franklin brings a wealth of education and training experience to her new position.  As education coordinator, she will facilitate education opportunities for nurses at medical centers throughout CALSTAR’s vast service area, as well as for CALSTAR's nurses.

Alison Horton, medical operations manager for CALSTAR, said the company is excited about having Franklin on board.  “Margaret’s new role as education coordinator will allow us to better meet the education and training needs of our hospital and EMS partners,” she said.   

Immediately before joining CALSTAR, Franklin worked as assistant reserve liaison officer and beneficiary education coordinator for TriWest Healthcare Alliance in Phoenix, Arizona.

In 1999 Franklin graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in management and human resources from Park University.  One year later she received a Bachelor of Science degree in business and management from the University of Maryland University College.  Continuing her education, Franklin in 2001 earned a Master of Science degree in administration from Central Michigan University.

CALSTAR is the largest nonprofit air ambulance provider on the west coast.  Now in its 29th year of operation, the company has nine bases in all and serves a diverse area from Santa Barbara to Mendocino County to South Lake Tahoe.  CALSTAR flight crews have completed more than 50,000 patient transports.
