Follow on Google News | Cerritos College Automotive Collision Repair Program Wins $5,000 GrantThe Cerritos College Automotive Collision Repair program won $5,000 as part of a grant from the Collision Repair Education Foundation.
The “Ultimate Collision Education Makeover” was created to honor a school that excels in educating students in collision repair. The grant assists by adding financial assistance to improve a schools program’s teaching materials and equipment. Several students from the Automotive Collision Repair program; painting students, body repair students, estimating students, and shop management students were involved in the “Ultimate Collision Education Makeover” contest. They worked the booths at the SEMA show with businesses, attended 21 classes including; industry classes conducted by the Society of Collision Repair Specialists (SCRS), and I-CAR courses. The winners were selected by a selection committee comprised of members of the Education Foundation Board of Trustees and the winners of the grants were announced at SEMA 2013. "The grant will allow us to provide much needed paint mixing banks with toners for students to learn how to mix and match colors in water-borne paint from 2 different manufacturers (DuPont and PPG), said Automotive Collision Repair Instructor, Charles Robertson.
