Follow on Google News | Cerritos College Hosts CITEA 85th Annual State ConferenceThe California Industrial and Technology Education Association (CITEA) 85th Annual Conference will be held on Friday, April 4th and Saturday, April 5th, 2014 at Cerritos College.
The Mission of the CITEA is to serve the Industrial Technology and Vocational Education communities by providing professional development, legislative analysis, advocacy, and networking. They believe that every California School should provide every student with the experience of learning Industrial and Technology skills, literacy, and to develop self-sufficiency, creativity, imagination and an appreciation of craftsmanship. Attendees will include Career Technology Education (CTE) teachers, administrators, and counselors from middle schools, high schools, ROC/Ps, community colleges, and universities. Industry members will also be attending as presenters and exhibitors. Workshops and seminars on the best pedagogical practices in Alternative Energy, Automotive, Construction, Green Construction, Drafting, Solar, STEM, Welding, and Woodworking. “Hosting this conference is an outstanding opportunity to showcase the college, our Technology Division, and its workforce preparation component,” said Woodworking Instructor, Anthony Fortner. “This conference is a way for educators and industry to see and share what’s new to improve classroom strategies, management skills and effectiveness. Through improved learning practices we can further assist our students in their educational goals and prepare them as skilled students to enter the workforce.” Cerritos College Technology Division’s mission is to provide a wide range of career and technical education options to help students pursue an occupational goal.
