Diving for Life's (DFL) 23rd Annual Scuba Jamboree Bonaire, Caribbean Sept. 13 – 20, 2014

NEW YORK - Nov. 30, 2013 - PRLog -- Diving For Life, a tax exempt, non-profit organization that sponsors the Annual International Gay & Lesbian SCUBA Jamboree, will hold its 23rd Scuba Jamboree on Bonaire, Caribbean Netherlands September 13th - 20th 2014.

The Jamboree is a fund raising event that offers a fun week of SCUBA diving with 125 – 150 GLBTT divers of all levels. Held annually, Diving for Life has enjoyed such diverse locations as Fiji, Curacao, The British Virgin Islands, Roatan and The Phi Phi Islands of Thailand. All proceeds are donated to organizations that support the health concerns of the GLBTT community. Since its inception Diving For Life has distributed over $1 MILLION dollars to GLBTT health-related charity organizations throughout the world.
Next year’s Jamboree, the 23rd Diving For Life (DFL), will be held at Captain Don’s Habitat located on the island of Bonaire, recently named “The Best Diving Island” by Caribbean World Magazine. The island’s diligent stewardship of its marine resources and dedication to protecting its natural beauty and environment makes Bonaire an ideal location for DFL’s 2014 Jamboree. Captain Don’s Habitat was founded in 1976 by Captain Don Stewart, the renowned underwater environmentalist who has been in the forefront of the environmentally sound developments on the island.

Bonaire, with an abundance of healthy reefs and sea life, offers some of the best diving in the world. It is also well known for the steady trade winds that wash over the island which create ideal conditions for world-class windsurfing and kiteboarding. Additionally, the sheer beauty of its semi-desert landscape is home to an outlandish assortment of wildlife. Iguanas meditatively toast themselves atop the desert rock formations of Washington Slagbaai, Bonaire's land-based natural park, while vast orange-pink clouds of flamingos drift across bone-white salt flats.
In addition to a fun-filled week of diving, there are a host of other activities including a welcome party, theme parties, our popular auction/raffle evening and more. The highlight of each Jamboree is seeing old friends and making new ones.
