Enjoy the Dazzling Lincoln Park Zoolights this Holiday Season

Dec. 2, 2013 - PRLog -- This holiday season, Lincoln Park Zoolights (http://blog.conciergepreferred.com/chicago/flip-switch-lincoln-parks-zoolights/) returns to Lincoln Park Zoo from November 29 - December 1, December 6-8 and 13-23, and December 26-January 5. Thousands of bright pink, red, green, blue, and orange lights adorn trees along the Zoolights' walkways, which have been expanded for this year's showing. Displays of larger-than-life, decorated, and lighted animals also dot the zoo grounds, with light shows, free holiday crafts, and more festive activities as part of the fun.

Families can look forward to a wide range of events at this year's Zoolights, from getting up close with the zoo animals to decorated carousel and train rides throughout the grounds. Heated and spiced wine as well as holiday lagers are sure to warm visitors along with the zoo's dinner and snack options. Holiday gift shopping and live ice carving are also highlighted activities this year, and through December 23, children may visit and take a photograph with Santa.

For those with steady feet or at least an extra pair of hands to help them, ice skating at the zoo will be available for $5 admission. Skate rental is available for $5, though visitors can bring their own as well. The rink is open through March 2, daily until 9 p.m.

For an extra special viewing experience, visitors should arrive early, as the first 900 guests every night will receive special 3-D glasses to take in the 3-D light displays.

For those interested in becoming Zoo members, Zoolights is a worthwhile time to do so. Members may take advantage of the Members Lounge at Zoolights from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Tadpole room on the lower level of the Park Place cafe. Through December 31, patrons may enjoy free hot cocoa, cookies, cider and tea, and crafts in the Lounge.
