LAS VEGAS - Dec. 13, 2013 - PRLog -- The 3^rd annual Vegas Pet Expo is just around the corner! From 10am to 6pm on Saturday, February 8, 2014, attendees can once again enjoy spending a fun-filled and educational day with their best pet friend. This free, indoor and air-conditioned event attracts nearly 12,000 attendees along with their furry, feathered and reptilian pals who are looking to enjoy a day of live entertainment, education, super fun contests and all kinds of exciting demonstrations.  Admission is free to the public for this annual don’t miss event and parking is $4.

Shorty Rossi, star of ‘Pit Boss’ on Animal Planet, will make an appearance with his popular canine sidekick, Hercules. As Rossi’s star has continued to rise, it’s only managed to allow him to make a bigger difference for his special passion: championing the cause of pit bulls. Not only will he be available for pictures and autographs all day, he’ll share how you can become an advocate for animals and help make a difference as well.

If you are looking to add a pet to your family, a major highlight of the Vegas Pet Expo is the Mega-Adoption Area, featuring hundreds of adoptable pets. Patti Welch, Vice President of Marketing, PR and Sponsorship explains, “The Mega-Adoption Area is always a very popular element of our shows. Nothing compares to seeing the connection between someone and their new forever pet friend.” As always, dozens of rescue groups will be on hand to answer your questions and help ensure that you find the pet that could be the very best fit for your unique family.  Several of the rescue organizations at the Vegas Pet Expo are sponsored by Subaru of Las Vegas and will feature hundreds of adoptable pets.

Welch adds, “There are so many pet-friendly resources available to pet lovers and owners in their communities and our goal is to help get that information out there. Plus, people have few options that allow them to spend a day bonding with their pet in an indoor environment where it’s all about the pets. This is a fun-filled, pet-friendly day for pet owners – or those who’d like to be!”

You won’t want to miss a minute of the live entertainment and demonstrations going on all day on multiple stages as well as the agility course, which is sponsored by Smarty Paws Canine Coaching.  There will also be exciting flyball demonstrations provided by the Vegas Velocity Flyball Racing Team.  You can register your pet friend to take part in popular competitions such as the costume contest (sponsored by allergease, all natural herbal supplement), talent contest or pet/owner musical chairs with awesome prizes from exhibitors that will be on site all day.

As always, pets are welcome to attend the event, as long as they’re on a fixed lead and have proof of age-appropriate rabies vaccines. If your pet is not up-to-date, don’t worry! There will be discounted vaccinations and low-cost micro chipping available, provided by the Ark Animal Clinic. Attendees can even take advantage of free nail trims.
