Follow on Google News | Self-Defense Course Teaches Women How to Protect Themselves from AssaultThis "hands-on" presentation will be conducted by Personal Safety Unlimited owner and chief self-defense instructor, Steve Zorn. During the training, participants will learn the importance of being aware of their surroundings and how to avoid a potential assault. Awareness is critical to learning real self-defense. Participants will then move on to simple escape strategies, verbal self-defense tactics, and finally practical self-defense moves. The physical techniques are based on natural and instinctive movements that real people have used to escape violent situations. These are not complex karate-style techniques. They are natural movements that are easy to learn, easy to remember, and easy to use when confronted with potential assault. Date: January 25, 2014 Time: 10am-12pm Location: North Webster Community Center 301 N. Main St. North Webster, Indiana Cost: $15 per person (ages 13+) "This is not about teaching people how to become martial arts experts," said Zorn. "It's about providing realistic skills that can be used to avoid or escape violent altercations. It also gives participants peace of mind knowing they have options in such situations." Zorn has over 24 years of experience in self-defense, crime prevention, and personal safety. During the past 15 years he has been privileged to empower men, women, teens, and children with the knowledge and skills to keep themselves safe from crime and violence. He has taught Women Self-Defense classes throughout Indiana to corporations, non-profit groups, and other organizations. http://www.personalsafetyunlimited.net End
