Former Foster Child Elected to Executive Board of Directors of Leading Non Profit Organization

LOS ANGELES - Jan. 16, 2014 - PRLog -- John W. Fagerholm, co-founding partner of M.E.T.A.L  Law Group, was named Board Chairman of Children United Nations, headquartered in Los Angeles.  The organization serves at-risk youth through mentorship programs in South Los Angeles.

John is one of three siblings who were placed in Foster care in his early teens.  His teen years were wrought with an unstable environment and,  at one point, he found himself living in his car.  He put himself through school working full time and studying at night.

Eventually he became a self-made entrepreneur who would own several businesses, including (besides his law firm) a car buying business, a kick boxing studio, a convalescent home, a mortgage company, an escrow company and a nightclub.

John obtained a B.A. in sociology and received the Schumacher scholarship to attend  Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles, where he obtained his J.D. graduating from the prestigious SCALE Program.

John's knowledge, expertise and personal lived experience as a foster youth has allowed him to utilize his voice in his commitment to positive outcomes for youth in foster care.
