By: Deborah Hayter Dr. Moore, a political strategist and historian of Black Politics, and Dr. Burks have conducted extensive research on their family through historical records and the oral history of various family members. Dr. Moore also wrote an award-winning screenplay based on his family's story. Dr. Burks is known as an innovative and growth-focused senior professional, with broad-ranging experience in educational leadership, curriculum development, research and analysis, and project management, as well as strategic planning and implementation. Dr. Moore, through his social connections within the entertainment industry, provides interesting insights into the roles of politicians, artists, intellectuals, and activists in addressing racial and social injustice today and the importance of education about Black history. "During Black History Month, this is an especially good time to discuss our Black heritage," said Dr. Moore, further elaborating, "This gives us a platform to educate others about the rich and diverse history of African Americans and the impact and contributions we have made on our country and the world."
