Mr. Bhanu Choudhrie attends the GG2 Awards at London

Jan. 30, 2014 - PRLog -- Ms. Malala Yousafzai, a well-known female activist and a Nobel Prize nominee was recently crowned as the most prominent Asian girl in the UK. For those that may not know, Ms. Yousafzai is a 16 year school going girl from Pakistan who bravely fought for her right to an education against the tyrannical rule of a terrorist group. She was shot in the head in October 2012 for impeding the orthodox rules. The honor was given to her in a prestigious award function, The GG2 Awards, sponsored by Shanti Hospitality a 100% subsidiary of C&C Alpha Group Ltd. Ms. Yousafzai was chosen over well-known names such as Labour MP Keith Vaz, to be awarded at GG2.

Ms. Yousafzai’s courage and the desire to fight for woman’s rights in adverse surroundings have earned her global acclaim. She was applauded worldwide for her bravery, especially in vocalising her distress, and refusing to surrender her campaign even after the perilous attack. She has also held meetings with the Queen and US President Barack Obama. She presently resides in the UK due to the security threats in her homeland.

The event was made all the more momentous with the presence of notable personalities from both the political and business world, including; Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg, Mr. Bhanu Choudhrie, Executive Director of C&C Alpha Group Ltd, and MP Keith Vaz.

Besides Ms. Yousafzai, awards were handed out to other exceptional individuals who belong to the ethnic minority and have made remarkable contribution to the UK. Zayn Malik was one of the distinguished personalities also honored at the event. He was recognised for representing Asian Music internationally. The event was held at Westminster Park Plaza Hotel, London on November 27 2013.

The GG2 awards function has been a prominent event in London over the past few years. It commemorates the accomplishments made by minority residents in the UK and the C&C Alpha Group Ltd has been a constant supporter to what is an extremely worthwhile celebration.
