Military Kids Uncover the Notorious Evil Cyber Bully in a New Anti-Bully Book: Military BratzBeing the new kid in class is often a harrowing experience for children of military families. Not only do they have to cope with frequent moves and making new friends, but they also experience being the targets of bullies. LaTangela Newsome, best known for her co-starring role on Nickelodeon's hit show "Taina" has co-written a children's book with her mother, Gwendolyn, called "The Military Bratz".
Newsome's role as Maritza on "Taina", also provided insight into the other side of bullying. She played the "mean girl" character who, despite her best attempts, ended up the butt of her own jokes. This experience highlights the other side of bullying, the side of the aggressor and the futility of such behavior. Now, LaTangela wants to use the book as a tool to inspire children to use acts of kindness and positive attitudes to combat the effects of bullying. Mother and daughter will be in Vail, CO to attend the 2014 Film Festival. While in Colorado, the two plan to visit schools and military bases to promote the upcoming book and talk to kids about ways to deal with bullying.
