The Udu is an earthly instrument which, in its true meaning (vessel) carries the song, personifies the human being as a vessel that embodies this love and greatness. The accompanying sounds of the guitar and bass project and harmonize with the Udu rhythm making it complete, whole.

The voice then crowns it all, articulating this feeling of completeness, all in different tongues and in varied sweet melodies.

VQEEs debut album 'Halua' was released at Alliance François (Nairobi) to critical acclaim in May of 2010. This led to her being featured in a variety of shows including Blankets and Wine, WOMEX, Good Governance Festival, World Music Festival Copenhagen among others. A 2009 Award nominee at the annual Africa Achievement Awards in Copenhagen, VQEE’s music has been featured in World Music Denmark's compilation CD, The Nest's 2013 Kenyan Classics Revisited, in Director Zippy Kimundu ́s short film `Give me back my home ́ and Historia Film ́s `House of Lungula ́.
