Japanese Students Travel to the United States to Tour the Cerritos College Automotive Program

Over 200 students from the Nissan Kyoto Automotive Program are traveling from Japan to the United States to visit the Cerritos College Automotive Program on May 12th and 13th, 2014.
 
NORWALK, Calif. - April 2, 2014 - PRLog -- The students will receive a tour of the Cerritos College Automotive and Automotive Collision Repair classes. The tour was arranged through a joint-partnership program sponsored by Nissan Corporation Japan with Cerritos College.

The visitation will consist of three Automotive (Automotive Mechanical Repair) and Auto body (Automotive Collision Repair) classes specialty designed with translators provided by MTC and visual demonstration for the Japanese students and.  Students will also have the opportunity to visit a Nissan or Infinity dealership.

The courses students will attend are: 100 years of Bonneville Salt Flats Racing, Custom Automotive Pin Striping Technique, and Custom Color Matching Technique.

100 years of Bonneville Salt Flats Racing will be presented by Tony Baron, Cerritos College Automotive instructor and Speed Record holder. The class will be an overview of Bonneville Salt Flats racing.

Custom Automotive Pin Striping Technique will be presented by Brian Ferre, Cerritos College Automotive Collision Repair instructor and custom painter. The class will be an introduction to custom pin striping techniques. Materials will be provided for students to participate.

Custom Color Matching Technique will be presented by Jose Heded, Cerritos College Automotive Collision Repair instructor and Auto Body business owner. The class will be an overview of paint matching techniques.

"This is a great opportunity to show off our school and our automotive program. We can expose the students to some automotive technical and historical subjects that they have probably never experienced. The participants should be able to leave with information that is within their area of study while gaining a better understanding of our automotive culture. This will be a great experience for all of us,” said Automotive Instructor, Leonard Glick.
