By: San Antonio Brewing Company San Antonio Brewing Company’s founder and head brewer, Vera Deckard, was invited to participate in Pink Boots Society’s International Women’s Collaboration Brew Day (IWCB) on March 8th, 2014. The Pink Boots Society, a professional women brewers society, created International Women’s Collaboration Brew Day to raise the awareness of women in the brewing industry and encourage more women to be an active part of the craft beer industry. Jointly, Mrs. Deckard and Branchline Brewing Company’s assistant brewer, Nicholas (Nick) Adcock, brewed ten (10) gallons of this limited edition pale ale at the Branchline Brewing Company location in early March. “Unite” Pale Ale is a session ale with a unique combination of malts and hops that creates a beautiful balance of sweetness and bitterness into every glass. Sales from “Unite” Pale Ale will benefit Pink Boots Society and the San Antonio Cerveceros. “Not only have the Cerveceros been crucial in supporting me with the San Antonio Brewing Company venture, but if you look, you will see them out and about, teaching all things beer, supporting local breweries and creating a great awareness of craft beer in the community,” stated Mrs. Deckard. “Unite” Pale Ale is the second collaboration for Mrs. Deckard and San Antonio Brewing Company. Her first collaborative beer was “Headlight’ “I was honored to be asked by the Pink Boots Society to collaborate in an event that was created to raise the awareness of women in the brewing industry,” added Mrs. Deckard. “I was one of two brewsters out of Texas to participate, and I’m hopeful that there will be many more next year.” Event Details Event: “Unite” Pale Ale Tapping Date and Time: Saturday, April 19th, 2014, from 12 PM to 6 PM Location: Branchline Brewing Company, 3633 Metro Parkway, San Antonio, Texas. Admission: Free About San Antonio Brewing Company San Antonio Brewing Company (SA-BC) will be San Antonio’s first artisanal craft brewpub with a fusion of German & Texan fare, while re-inventing old beer styles into flavorful and innovative works of craft beer artistry. SA-BC currently does not have a permanent location as of yet; however, SA-BC is determined to house their brewery in San Antonio, Texas, preferably near the King William neighborhood. Currently, through their partnership with restaurateur, Chad Carey (owner of The Monterey, Barbaro and Hot Joy), San Antonio Brewing Company has been distributing free beer samples to restaurant patrons every Sunday at The Monterey, 1127 S St Marys Street, San Antonio, Texas.
