Favorite Seuss Characters Spring to Life Onstage in CYT NYC’s Production of SEUSSICAL JR!

NEW YORK - May 6, 2014 - PRLog -- Tickets are on sale now for CYT NYC’s full-scale musical production of Seussical Jr. performing at the Theatre at St. Clement’s, 423 West 46^th in midtown Manhattan.  More than 30 CYT students ages 8-18 from NYC and NJ will be featured in nine performances:  June 20 & 27 at 7:30pm, June 21, 22 & 28 at 7pm and June 21, 22, 28, 29 at 3pm.   Audiences will experience a fun, fantastical, Seussical adventure, which is great for the whole family!   CYT shows also include raffles, themed concessions and souvenirs all designed to create a memorable and family-friendly experience.

Seussical Jr. is a musical by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty based on the books of Dr. Seuss (mainly “Horton Hears a Who!”, "Horton Hatches the Egg" and "The One Feather Tail of Gertrude McFuzz"). The Cat in the Hat and Jojo go on a huge "think" adventure that takes them from Whoville to Palm Beach. Will Horton find the Whos? Who will take care of Mayzie's egg? The powers of friendship, loyalty, family, and community are challenged and emerge triumphant!

Christian Youth Theater (CYT) is dedicated to developing character in children through training in the arts and by producing wholesome family entertainment, all of which reflect Judeo-Christian values. CYT offers year-round after-school classes, summer camps and full-scale musical productions for ages 5-18 in NYC and Northern NJ.

CYT offers three sessions during the school year (fall, winter and spring). Classes are offered in drama, voice, and dance, plus various specialty classes.  CYT offers small classes (less than 18 students), each lasts two-hours and runs for 9 consecutive weeks. During the last class week, a high-energy Showcase is presented by each class for family and friends.

CYT NYC is a national affiliate of Christian Youth Theater (CYT), which began in 1981 in San Diego, CA.  CYT NYC began in the fall of 2012 and currently serves New York City and Northern New Jersey.  CYT stands in the forefront in its commitment to the highest ethical, moral, technical and artistic standards of excellence with highly qualified, professional instructors.
