Honda Releases Details on the 2016 Civic

BOSTON - Oct. 22, 2015 - PRLog -- New England Honda Dealers is excited to announce that Honda has released the specs on the new 2016 Honda Civic after its debut. The 10^th generation of Honda's small car has already received quite a bit of attention for its rejuvenation of the Civic brand while carving out a segment of the auto market all its own.

Virtually everything on the 2016 Honda Civic Sedan is new, including a sophisticated interior, unique exterior styling elements, a more spacious cabin, two new engines (including Honda's first turbocharger in the United States market), and a wide range of premium amenities.

Under the hood of the Civic, drivers will find one of two engines:
     • The standard 2.0L 4-cylinder is rated at 158 hp and offers up 138 lb-ft of torque while earning as much as 41 mpg on the highway due to the new continuously variable transmission.

     • The available 1.5L turbocharged engine is rated at 174 hp and 162 lb-ft of torque, earning up to 42 highway mpg.

In addition to these new, powerful engines, Honda has been leading the way in comfort and tech features. The new base-level Civic LX includes a 5-inch color LCD display, a multi-angle rearview camera, and Bluetooth for phone and audio. Upgrades like a 7-inch Display Audio touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, satellite-linked navigation, and even an upgraded 450-watt stereo system can be found on the Touring trim level. Between the LX and Touring are three more trims for the ultimate in variety: EX, EX-T, and EX-L.

The new Honda Sensing safety features will come standard on high-end Civic models (including the new Touring trim), but features like collision mitigation braking and adaptive cruise control can be added to any trim level with the Honda Sensing package.

Remember, the sedan is just the first of three body styles, including the hatchback and the coupe. Honda is aiming to make the Civic into a car for all different kinds of drivers, and it looks to be working.
