Follow on Google News | Project Atticus Launches Travel Adventure by Buying A SailboatProject Atticus buys a 1963 Allied Seawind 30' to refit and sail around the world on a budget, marking the beginning of their travel adventure and video web series.
By: Project Atticus Jordan and Desiree, founders of Project Atticus, hope to add to the list of sailors to circumnavigate the world aboard an Allied Seawind 30, the first fiberglass sailboat in the world to circumnavigate in 1969, a feat accomplished by Alan Eddy aboard the Apogee (Hull #11). Ahead of them lies the challenge of refitting a 51-year-old neglected sailboat. Neither of them has ever done anything like this before. The couple founded the video web series, Project Atticus, to document and share their journey of buying, refitting, and sailing around the world on a budget. Project Atticus releases periodic videos to highlight their struggles and feats and to delve into the unique cultures and societies that they encounter along the way. To Jordan and Desiree, the character Atticus Finch (To Kill A Mockingbird) About Jordan and Desiree: Jordan Wicht (sailing instructor, filmmaker, and former superyacht deckhand) and Desiree Golem (former startup entrepreneur, street children advocate, and superyacht stewardess) met while crewing together on Motor Yacht Limitless, the largest American superyacht in the world.
