Cerritos College Technology Division Hosted CITEA 85th Annual State Conference

NORWALK, Calif. - May 8, 2014 - PRLog -- The Mission of the CITEA is to serve the Industrial Technology and Vocational Education communities by providing professional development, legislative analysis, advocacy, and networking. They believe that every California School should provide every student with the experience of learning Industrial and Technology skills, literacy, and to develop self-sufficiency, creativity, imagination and an appreciation of craftsmanship.

The 120 attendees included Career Technology Education (CTE) teachers, administrators, and counselors from middle schools, high schools, ROC/Ps, community colleges, and universities, and industry members.

Presentations included best practices in Industrial and Technology Education. The State Conference included workshops and seminars on the best pedagogical practices in Alternative Energy, Automotive, Construction, Green Construction, Drafting, Solar, STEM, Welding, and Woodworking.

“The purpose of this conference was to connect Industrial and Technology teachers with other teachers and industry partners. Cerritos College was a great place to make these connections and sharing happen. It was a great event!" said Richard Nicholson, CITEA Southern Section Chairperson.
