Cache Valley Storytelling Festival Saturday June 7th

LOGAN, Utah - May 15, 2014 - PRLog -- Once upon a time, Wayne McKay, a former entrepreneur, educator and international consultant, left that life behind and hunkered down beside the hearth of his humble cottage in Cache Valley, Utah to sing songs, tell tales, and do voice work now and again. But, it wasn’t long before he discovered storytelling festivals and began to dream of his home, beautiful Cache Valley, with a festival of its own. The Cache Valley Storytelling Festival is the realization of that dream. Featuring storytellers, musicians, puppeteers, a magician and food vendors, this free, family friendly event will take place at North Logan's Elk Ridge Park (1100 East 2500 North) on Saturday, June 7th. The food vendors and story store (featuring souvenirs of the festival and books and CDs of the performers) will open at noon and the performances will begin at 1:30 p.m. and run continuously until 10 p.m.

Hosted by Festival Founding Executive Director Wayne McKay, the featured performers this year include storytellers Teresa Clark, Ted Erekson, Omar & Lori Hansen, Clive Romney, Nannette Watts, magician Richard Hatch and puppeteers Paul and Carla Schulz and Susan Neidert. Attendees who have a story to tell are invited to sign up early for the "story exchange" featuring youth and adult tellers from 6 to 7 p.m.

Thanks to the generosity of many sponsors and in celebration of the 80th anniversary of the founding of North Logan, this year the Festival is a free event. Free tickets for prize drawings are available in advance at the North Logan City Offices, the North Logan Library, Lee's Marketplace in Smithfield and Logan, Macey's Food and Drug in Providence and Logan, and at the Festival site on Saturday, June 7th.
