Rai University Organizes Industry Visit to BISAG on 8th May, 2014

AHMEDABAD, India - May 20, 2014 - PRLog -- On 8th May, 2014 Rai University, Ahmedabad organized an industry visit to BISAG (Bhaskaracharya Institute for Space Applications and Geo-Informatics). The Corporate Resource Cell organized team organized this trip to help the IT, CS & EC engineering students understand the actual functionality and working methodology of a particular industry. BISAG, which was formerly known as Remote Sensing and Communication Centre (RESECO), has been renamed after the great Indian Mathematician of the 12th century, “Bhaskaracharya”.

The visit was extremely helpful for all our students wherein they got to know the history of BISAG, about the company and how it worked over these years for extensive research activities. This was followed by two sessions. In the first session a seminar held that explained what is working methodology of the company and the services they offer. In addition, students were described about the functionality of a satellite. In the second session, students visited the Control Room to get the first hand information and get a glimpse how tele-conferences are held by the company for the educational purpose related to GTU.

The industry visit proved to be highly beneficial for all our students, who got to know how space applications and Geo informatics work. Also, learning about the about Broadcasting and Geo-Informatics, Satellite Communication, Satellite mapping of Earth and the latest satellites of BISAG were highly informative. Finally, meeting the engineers and technocrats at BISAG was a wonderful experience.
