Rivera in DTLA & Alexander Jules Celebrate International Sherry Week

LOS ANGELES - May 29, 2014 - PRLog -- At Rivera's Restaurant in Downtown Los Angeles, sommelier Michael Achach of Rivera will be collaborating with Alex Russan, owner of Alexander Jules Wines, to host a 6 course prix-fixe sherry tasting dinner paired with Alexander Jules' special barrel selected sherries, as well as bottlings from other bodegas.  The dinner  is on Thursday, June 5th, at 7pm.  Original sherry cocktails by Rivera's mixologists will be served as well.

One of a small handful of International Sherry Week events in Los Angeles, Rivera and Alexander Jules are excited to be participating with the tens of thousands of enthusiasts around the world to celebrate sherry.  International Sherry Week--the week from June 2 through 8 -celebrates and promotes the Andalusian wine, with over 1,000 restaurants, bars, bodegas and wine shops hosting their own sherry-focused events worldwide.

Rivera, in addition to being renowned for chef John Rivera Seldar's menus, is also known for being a longtime encourager of sherry consumption in Los Angeles--a city a bit behind the curve in the recent resurgence of popularity for this often misunderstood wine.
