Broadway-Inspired Summer Camps Take Their Programming to Kidz Central Station

Online activity provider offers NYC summer camps taught by Broadway stars

NEW YORK - June 25, 2014 - PRLog -- Only in New York City can kids attend classes and camps taught by real Broadway actors. Through Kidz Central Station (http://www.kidzcentralstation.com), an e-portal for finding, comparing reviews, and booking kids classes, parents can enroll their children in summer camps taught by real actors from hit musicals like Book of Mormon and Mamma Mia.

“The performing arts is such an important part of New York City culture, and it’s wonderful that kids have the opportunity to experience it,” says Lauren Pohl, CEO and founder of Kidz Central Station. “Through our website, busy parents can easily find and enroll their children in one of the many theater camps we offer and know they are being taught by the best.”

This includes On Broadway-PATP (https://www.kidzcentralstation.com/new-york/kids-classes/2435-on-broadway-patp-on-broadway-patp-summer-camp), started by Rema Webb, a 16-year Broadway veteran who currently stars in Violet at the Roundabout Theater and was an original cast member in Book of Mormon.

“I created On Broadway PATP out of my passion for teaching and sharing my own experiences with newer generations of young students,” says Webb. Running July 21–August 15, and offering a variety of sign-up options, On Broadway PATP has a conservatory setting where skilled teachers help students (ages 5–14) explore theater, dance, music, and theatre arts.

Kidz Central Station is also offering Rockstars! (https://www.kidzcentralstation.com/new-york/kids-classes/...), which runs July 8–11 and is taught by a brother and sister team with plenty of Broadway experience—Lee Kasper is a director, actor, teacher, and performance coach, and Rebecca Kasper is an actor, singer, and teacher who has worked both on and off Broadway, including as a performer in Mamma Mia. The camp gives NYC kids (ages 7–12) the chance to learn, play, and rock out to hits of the past five decades.

For younger kids who aren’t quite ready for the full Broadway experience, parents can visit Kidz Central Station to sign up for Galli Fairytale Acting Camp (https://www.kidzcentralstation.com/new-york/kids-classes/...), which serves children as young as age four. Running one-week sessions from July 7–August 25, this camp gives children the opportunity to act out their favorite fairy tales, complete with costumes and a final performance for friends and family.

While Kidz Central Station offers an array of performing arts classes to choose from, parents can also visit the site to search for a variety of classes and camps for their kids. Activities are searchable by class type, age, day, neighborhood, and price, and children can be enrolled in either session-long programs or one-time drop-in classes.
