Arlington Heights Ford Will Host a Fundraising Event for the USO of Illinois

July 10, 2014 - PRLog -- For the second year in a row, the Chicago Automobile Trade Association (CATA) and related dealership members, including Arlington Heights Ford (http://www.ahford.com/), are teaming up with the USO of Illinois to host fundraising events in their respective communities. These events are essential for raising money and awareness about local service members and their families.

Arlington Heights Ford will be hosting a USO Barbecue for the Troops event on Saturday, July 19^th at 801 W. Dundee Road (http://www.ahford.com/page/locationhours2-masterpage/master/secondary/Arlington-Heights-IL-Ford-Dealer) in Arlington Heights. It will start at 10:00 a.m. and run until 3:00 p.m. with all proceeds going directly to the USO to help support deployed, injured, ill, wounded, and at-home troops, as well as their respective families. Activities at this barbecue are family-friendly and include raffles, door prizes, and free giveaways throughout the day.

For people who cannot attend the event on July 19^th, support for the troops and the opportunity to win barbecue-themed prizes is still possible. From now until Monday, July 21^st, social media users can submit barbecue videos or pictures with the hashtag #BBQ4Troops on Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook. Weekly prizes from Bub City will be awarded at random to those who submit related content with the designated hashtag.  Participants will be eligible to win a barbecue basket grand prize from Real Urban BBQ.

Last year, the USO Barbecue for the Troops fundraising events raised more than $37,000 collective from CATA affiliates that directly benefited military servicemen and women. While the USO Barbecue for the Troops is a national fundraising campaign, the money raised through the Chicago Automobile Trade Association accounted for approximately 40% of the total funds donated during this initiative.
