Wilmington Volleyball Series Year End Championships

Wilmington Volleyball Series is hosting the Year End Championships on August 9 at Capt’n Bill’s Backyard Grill in Wilmington, North Carolina.  The tournament is sponsored by Castle Productions, a full creative production agency.  This is a double points tournament with the points counting towards the Volley America $30,000 Beach Grand Prix.

Saturday tournament play will start at 8:45 am for Open divisions, and 1:15 pm for AA and BB divisions. On Sunday, play begins at 9:30 am for Coed divisions.  Player check-in is forty-five minutes prior to start time.  Men's and Women's Open, AA and BB Divisions will play on Saturday. Coed Open, AA, and B teams will play on Sunday.  Admission is free for all spectators who are encouraged to come early for a front row seat.

This is the final tournament for the WVS schedule, which began on April 12, 2014.  The event leads into the Volley America Carolina Regionals on October 11-12 held next to the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk and Oktoberfest.

The 2014 beach volleyball season will end October 25-26 with the Volley America Nationals in Clearwater Beach, FL.  The Volley America Nationals will be the final tournament in the series promoted by East End Volleyball throughout the East Coast, which has awarded over $75,000 cash prizes throughout the season.

The tournaments are sanctioned by Volley America, the largest grass roots program in the United States. Volley America offers tournaments, clinics and leagues creating opportunities for players of all levels to improve their game.  Volley America runs a national ranking system used to seed all tournaments as it promotes beach volleyball throughout the US.
