Criminal Defense Attorney Hope C. Lefeber to Discuss Forfeiture at Federal Defender's Office CLE

Lefeber’s program is geared toward defense attorneys with clients who face increasingly aggressive restitution and forfeiture actions sought by the U.S. Attorney's Office. The government is increasingly seeking both forfeiture of assets and restitution for the alleged crime, which often results in double judgments against defendants, Lefeber said.

“These aggressive judgments carry serious ramifications for people’s lives after prison, because they can never get ahead in life with that financial noose around their necks,” said Lefeber, who has spent more than three decades practicing criminal defense. “Attorneys need to be aware of the issues and potential tactics for mitigating the harm to their clients.”

In practice since 1979, Lefeber is an experienced and aggressive criminal defense attorney in Philadelphia.
