The “Love Kitchen” is a mobile pizza kitchen designed to feed a large number of people, while still maintaining the company’s “Hot ‘n Ready” philosophy. The “Love Kitchen”, an award-winning, nationally recognized program, provided a delicious and nutritious hot meal for families who otherwise might not have had anything to eat that day. Over the two days in Baltimore, Little Caesars of Towson owned by Cutting Edge Pizza, provided all the pizzas for approx 275 people at the Manna House and over 800 people at Our Daily Bread Soup Kitchen. The “Love Kitchen” is supported by Little Caesars franchise owners. They donate the product and volunteer manpower for each “Love Kitchen” serving. The York Rd. Little Caesars location donated the over 130 pizzas needed for the visits. “Little Caesars created the Love Kitchen to provide quality meals for people who need them,” says owner Terry Huffman. “Giving back has been part of the way Little Caesars does business" he added." We believe it is important to do our part to help the community and families in need in the Baltimore area.” Little Caesar’s Pizza recognizes that every day, in every city in America there are families who go to bed hungry. The “Love Kitchen” is their possible solution to that problem. As “Love Kitchen” events have shown in the past, any effort towards helping those in need is immensely appreciated. Since its beginning, the “Love Kitchen” has increased its amount of people from 100 to 500 people per serving, a number that is expected to continue to grow. The “Love Kitchen” operates by the words, “Serving to Make a Difference” and Little Caesar’s Pizza hopes that they may show, by example, how feasible it is for other nationwide food franchises to help feed those in need. Established by Little Caesars in 1985, the Love Kitchen exemplifies Little Caesar’s strong tradition of giving back to America’s communities.“ Former Presidents Bill Clinton and George H.W. Bush awarded The President’s Volunteer Action Award Citation to Little Caesars for its volunteers’ contributions to the Love Kitchen. Little Caesars also received a Presidential Citation for Private Sector Initiatives for the Love Kitchen program under the Reagan administration. It has received a certificate of appreciation from the State of Michigan and was recognized by the Detroit City Council for its efforts in the Gulf Coast region. Local Little Caesars franchise owners and company regional offices donate all food and labor costs for the Love Kitchen servings. An estimated 50,000 Little Caesars franchise owners and employees have volunteered their time over the years to support the program in their local communities. The Little Caesars Love Kitchen has fed more than two million people in 48 states and three Canadian provinces. It has also responded to disasters such as the recent floods in Iowa, the site of the World Trade Center attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, and the 1995 Federal Building bombing in Oklahoma City.
